Carlos Soler played the entire 90 minutes of Spain's Under-21s European Championships opener against Italy, in which 'La Rojita' lost 3-1 to the hosts of the tournament. Manu Vallejo was an unused sub in the game.
The Valencia CF player was fielded on the right of the midfield by coach Luis de la Fuente, and produced several shots over the course of the game -including one saved by opposition goalkeeper Meret in spectacular style on 53 minutes.

Whilst the Spanish team went ahead through Dani Ceballos, a brace from Federico Chiesa and a penalty by Lorenzo Pelegrini handed the win to Italy. Spain play their next game on Wednesday against Belgium.
The next VCF player set for action in the competition is Uroš Račić, as Serbia take on Austria on Monday evening.
